Categories and sections

Our themes have a variety of different layout styles for displaying categories, sections, and/or articles in your help center.

List of categories/sections as boxes

Each category is presented as a box. By clicking on a tile, you open a category page.

Accordions

Accordions are progressive disclosure components. Such components truncate information for the general layout/design and are intended to deliver optional additional content depending on users' interests. They help minimize scrolling and allow visitors to find content quickly and easily.

Tree with articles

This option displays the full structure of your help center with categories, sections, and articles. Each category contains a list of sections. Each section contains a list of six articles with a link to more articles if there are any.

This option displays category titles with lists of sections.

To change the content layout

1. In the Zendesk Guide, click the Customize design icon in the sidebar.
2. Click Customize on the theme you want to edit.
3. In the Settings panel, select Homepage layout.
4. Select a preferred layout option for categories/sections.
5. Click the Publish button to save the changes.
